Open, complete or cancel an event
Review the consequences and prerequisites before changing an event’s lifecycle state.
Who this is for: Owners and Admins managing event lifecycle.
Help when this task is blocked
Before you start
Owner/Admin lifecycle actions require deliberate review. Do not use a state change to bypass blockers.
Completed events cannot be reopened. Cancellation keeps history.
Steps
- Open the event overview and choose the intended event action.
- Read the review controls; selecting an action alone does not save it.
- Before opening, resolve required setup. Before completion, review attendance, no-shows or Vetting outcomes.
- Complete the required confirmation and verify the event’s saved state.
Expected result
The event changes state only after its reviewed action succeeds.
If you cannot finish
I need to reopen a completed event
Completed events cannot be reopened. Cancellation keeps history.
I am reviewing no-shows
No-show suspension is optional: none are selected by default.
Vetting completion is blocked
For Vetting, every checked-in prospective member needs an outcome before completion. Approved prospective attendees become members only when completion succeeds.
Example: understand this in practice
Maya reviews attendance before completing a fictional regular event. No-show suspension is an optional reviewed choice, not an automatic default.
Names and situations are fictional.
